- Not necessarily. Each domain is counted once, under the issuer of its most recent certificate, so a CA grows in this ranking by covering domains it did not previously cover — including domains that switched to it from another CA. Reissuing certificates for the same domains does not move the number.
- ? How reliable are these percentages right now?
- Daily measurement started on 31 August 2026. Until a full window of measured snapshots has accumulated, the baseline each percentage is measured against comes from a reconstruction of certificate first-seen dates rather than a count taken on the day. That reconstruction can only grow — a domain that switched CAs is credited to its current CA for its whole history — so early numbers on this board overstate growth. They firm up as measured history replaces the estimate.
